The Pluperfect Subjunctive

The compound tenses are formed by taking the auxilary verb "haber" and adding a past participle.

Therefore, the pluperfect subjunctive takes the imperfect subjunctive tense form of the verb "haber" and adds the past participle.

Here is "haber" in the imperfect subjunctive.

  singular plural
first person hubiera hubiéramos
second person hubieras hubierais
third person hubiera hubieran

Here is an example of "comer" conjugated in the pluperfect subjunctive. Note that the past participle of "comer" is comido.

yo hubiera comido
tú hubieras comido
él/ella/usted hubiera comido
nosotros hubiéramos comido
vosotros hubierais comido
ellos/ellas/ustedes hubieran comido
